Spontaneity is the hallmark of fine art monoprinting and that is what draws Bonnie E. Rodgers to it. The images are created on paper and are rendered in ink, watercolor, or acrylic with a multitude of other medium to embellish them. A monoprint is essentially a printed painting. No two prints are alike. However, images can be similar, but editioning is not possible. The true appeal of the monotype lies in the unique translucency that creates a quality of light, very different from a painting on paper or a print, and the beauty of this media is its combination of printmaking, painting and drawing mediums
